Armagnac is an excellent digestif, typically consumed at the end of a meal, and pairs well with smoked salmon, gourmet cold cuts, Gascon dishes, foie gras, sauces, and flambéed meats and game. It also complements desserts like apple and chocolate, as well as berries and fruits such as Agen prunes, cherries, raspberries, and oranges, and is great with coffee and cigars. The drink has a beautiful rich amber color, a complex aroma blending wet wood and dried fruit, and a tannic, soft, woody taste with a pleasant aftertaste.
